Join MamaWell’s upcoming Mindfulness for Expecting Mom’s Course!

This in depth 8-week Mindfulness Program is modeled on the research-backed MBSR program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

This course offers moms-to-be the opportunity to use the transformative time of pregnancy to learn mindfulness practices for self-care and and for working with the fear, stress and overwhelm that are a normal part of pregnancy.

Mindfulness practices will also serve as a foundation so that mothers can utilize mindfulness to help deal with postpartum adjustments as a new mother, from day one.

Mindfulness practices have a strong role in healthy parent infant attachment, and have been shown to reduce anxiety and stress during pregnancy as well as increase positive child outcomes.

In this course we will be practicing mindfulness meditation, mindful movement and other practices that support stress reduction and our ability to navigate through uncertainty and times of change with more ease.

You will join a group of other expecting mama’s, who are currently pregnant, just like you. The format encourages community and dialogue through group process.


During This In-Depth Course you will Learn:

 -How to work with feelings of stress, anxiety, and the fear of the unknown

 -How to build emotional regulation, and learn how to find calm amidst all of the emotions that come with this big life transition

 -How to practice simple ways to slow down, and gain greater connectedness and joy


How It Works:

-A two month journey with eight modules

-An interactive video call with Heidi each week. This isn’t one of those programs where all the material is pre-recorded. I’m live every Wednesday for a dynamic video call that includes teaching, exercises that allow you to apply what we learn to your life, Q&A and discussion. You can participate live on our video calls, or watch the recordings at your convenience.

-Daily practices, reminders, and sources of accountability to help you easily put new ways of living into practice – even in the midst of a hectic and busy schedule.


The Details:

When: This in depth 8-week course that runs from October 24th – December 20th 2017. Class meets on Wednesday evenings, for 1.5 hours a week from 6:00-7:30pm PST-US. (There will not be class the week of November 22nd for the US Thanksgiving Holiday)

Where: This is a Live-online program. Each session simply find a quiet place where you can tune into the class each week.  

If you miss a session, no problem, recordings of the class will be emailed to participants 24 hours after each class, so you won’t miss a thing.

Cost: As this is a ‘pilot’ course for a limited number of participants, the cost is only $149. This means you will also get a lot of personal attention and time for questions. Price will increase in 2018.

1.Do I need any prior experience in mindfulness or meditation?

A:No, this course is designed for beginners and experienced meditators alike.

2.What if I have to miss a class?

A: If you miss a session, no problem, recordings of the class will be emailed to participants 24 hours after each class so you won’t miss a thing.

3.Is there anyone who shouldn’t take this course?

A: This course isn’t for everyone. Specifically, this course may not be for you if:

– you are looking for a course with a strong religious component (either Buddhist, Christian, or something else)

– you are not willing to put in the time to practice mindfulness

– you are struggling with significant depression or anxiety and are not currently in treatment — if this is the case, I strongly encourage you to contact a mental health provider (this course is not intended to replace therapy or other mental health services)

4.What is the cancellation and refund policy?

A: Cancel 15 days or earlier from first class for a 100% refund. No refunds after this date.

5.What are the technical requirements?

A: You will need a high speed internet connection and a computer with video and sound capabilities. (Although you don’t have to join via video, if you don’t want to).
